Store Inventory On A Teardrop Pallet Racking System

A series of upright frames and horizontal beams are used to construct a teardrop pallet racking system. This type of system contains punched holes that will support the locking of horizontal pieces to vertical framework pieces.

Organized Stocking

A drill can be used to create holes in concrete or another durable flooring material that a pallet rack will be anchored to. Wedge anchor bolts, washers, and nuts are used to secure the bottom of each framework piece that is being used to construct a racking unit. The upright frames and horizontal beams that comprise a racking system vary in length, width, and thickness.

After considering how long and wide a racking system will be, framework and horizontal beams that match the dimensions chosen can be purchased from an industrial supplies retailer that sells materials designed for warehouse storage. Upon assembling a teardrop pallet rack unit, products will remain organized upon separate platforms. A forklift or an electric or manual order picker can be used to safely elevate or lower merchandise that is stored on a racking system.

Storage Space Increases

Many industrial supply retailers sell teardrop pallet racking components. Since many companies feature the teardrop design, pieces that are being used to expand a racking system can be purchased from a single retailer or many different retailers. Setting up a basic teardrop system will allow you to remove inventory from your warehouse floor.

If you decide to expand your product line or if there are going to be seasonal increases that reflect upon the amount of inventory that is produced at your place of business, you can add pallet rack components that will lengthen or widen the area where you store raw materials and finished goods. Any palletized materials that are shipped to your business can immediately be stored on one of the platforms that are part of the teardrop racking system.

Safety And Access Tips

Some pallet rack manufacturers sell vertical and horizontal rack components that are brightly colored. The color of the racking materials will aid a forklift driver or another machine operator with safely maneuvering through the aisles that the racking components are located in.

Before expanding a racking system, make sure that there is plenty of clearance for your machine operators to maneuver forklifts and other pieces of heavy-duty equipment. Plenty of space should be in between racking system aisles. The space should allow each machine operator to move heavy-duty equipment forward and backward and to turn equipment around.
